Lycee Schorge de Koudougou, Burkina Faso
Education stimulates the spirit in young people and opens up new possibilities for their future. In Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the world, the schooling situation represents a huge challenge. The access to education is still limited, especially in the field of secondary schools. Moreover, teachers and students are faced with difficult teaching and learning conditions, especially in rural areas. Furthermore girls are underprivileged.
Lycee Schorge de Koudougou is a middle and high school for 350 students. A minimum of 60% girls and 60% scholarships is guaranteed. The curriculum has an extra focus on English and Mathematics, and includes practical knowledge in handy craft, agriculture and entrepreneurship. Oral Hygiene is also covered thanks to Humble Smile Foundation.
